NEXUS FAQs (more)

What is a waiver of inadmissability?

A waiver of inadmissibility is an application for entry into the United States for someone who is otherwise inadmissible for one or more reasons.

Does my NEXUS membership automatically expire when my passport expires?

Your NEXUS membership date is not dependent on the passport expiration date. Membership will remain valid, even if the passport expires.

How do I know if I need to activate my membership card?

If you have NEXUS membership, then you should always activate your card.

What are the accepted credit card types?

Accepted credit card types are Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, and Diner's Club International. ALL FUNDS are processed in USD when using online services.

Funds are only processed in CAD when you have submitted a paper application to Canada Border Services by postal service mail or at an enrollment center.

How will the transaction appear on my bank or credit card statement?

There are two types of payments related to your application.

Payment transactions will usually appear with the description "PAYMENT" and text indicating "IMMIGRATION" and/or "USCUSTOMS TRUSTE" Indianapolis IN 1. Both payments are different settlement amounts and are both related charges to your application. If you're not sure what a particular payment is, the first point of contact should be by email to: ca-pay1@nexus-card.ca. We can help identify the payment history.

How quickly is my credit card payment processed?

Payment of fees is initially authorized when you submit your application to the payment gateway for processing. Typically, credit card payments are processed and settled within 30 days. Settlement of an authorized fee happens when your application status changes to "Pending Review". As soon as your application is Pending Background Review, the payment process is completed and your application is no longer eligible for cancellation or refund.

If for any reason your application does not become certified with a "Pending Review" status within 30 days, your original payment authorization will automatically VOID on day 30 and no fees will be taken from your credit/debit card. Your application will be cancelled , but you may apply again at a later date.

Automatic Right of Cancellation

You have an automatic right to cancel your application within 24 hours of submitting your application. You may also cancel your application and receive a full refund at any time, if the application has not been certified. You have no automatic right to cancel your application once it is in a "PENDING REVIEW" status.

Regardless of the status of your application, Immigration TS is always reasonable and willing to help, you should always submit an online refund request for consideration before any claim or dispute with your bank or card issuer. Any claim or chargeback with a bank or card issuer will be automatically disputed, if you did not first submit a refund request for consideration.
